If you wanted to try something new–say, join the press corps that follows the presidential race–you’ve got two choices.  You could go to the right schools, make the right connections, and wait for someone to give you permission.  Or you could just do it.  25-year-old Brett Marty chose the second.  And he’s ended up with some of the most-viewed photographs of the 2008 Obama-McCain race.
