A Few Thoughts for Interns
4 February 2010
Yesterday I spoke in a colleague’s class, offering some ideas for college students about to embark on their internships. We discussed resumes, cover letters, and job preparedness: looking good, making a great first impression, reducing risk for employers, and offering to be a problem-solver.
For those in the class (and whoever else stumbles across this post), I’ve linked some additional information you may find helpful:
- Beautiful resume designs
- Anything else on this site related to job hunting
- Resume and job hunting resources at Monster.com
- Recommended reading: 48 Days to the Work You Love (Dan Miller), Purple Cow and Linchpin (Seth Godin), Stupid, Ugly, Unlucky, and Rich (Richard St. John), A Whole New Mind and The Adventures of Johnny Bunko (Dan Pink)
- Be sure to watch the Johnny Bunko trailer
